Introduction
Death Whisperer 2, or Tee Yod 2, is a supernatural horror film from Thailand, set to be released in 2024 and directed by Taweewat Wantha. Synopsis
Three years have passed since the heartbreaking incidents that irrevocably transformed Yak’s life. Following the tragic loss of his sister Yam to an unnatural entity, Yak (Nadech Kugimiya) channels his efforts toward being a spirit knight. Together with his steadfast companion, Sergeant Paphan (Ongart Cheamcharoenpornkul), Yak undertakes a perilous journey to a cursed forest named Dong Khomot. Their objective is to locate and eliminate the ghoul that murdered Yam.
Beside him are his nephews Jirasak and Nawin, and accompanying them are Sem the necromancer, Khom the porter, and Luechai who is looking for vengeance for his family. They are all stricken by the realms of the dead and otherworldly devices of destruction that test their fortitude and tenacity as they descend further into the darkness. The last battle occurs in a derelict shack next to a bog, where they meet Puang, an ethereal soldier turned ghost from the 1800s, now a puppet for an evil spirit he is bound to. The fight results in numerous injuries for both sides, and Yak escapes the fray with his life by a narrow margin.
While in town, Yak’s relatives assemble at a discreet accommodation to celebrate their family member’s Yad’s nuptials with Pradit. Along, unseen and unknown follows the family members. Without anyone noticing, the spirit proceeds to hijack closed ones, slowly turning them to puppets. Instead of a wedding celebration, the family is confronted with a horrifying nightmare while battling an evil force.
Together with Sergeant Paphan, Yak rushes back to the hotel in a sprint with the intent of putting an end to the spirit’s manifestations for good, even with his injuries. They engage in a fierce final duel with the protective magic charms that ancient beings had given them. They, along with their family, manage to disengage the spirit allowing Yam’s soul to rest peacefully. The moment the movie closes, Yak feels content’s kiss as a vision of his sister smiling asks him to finally sleep after their prolong fight.

Direction and Cinematography
Taweewat Wantha the director, maintains the chill from the first installment, relying on visually disturbing elements and suspenseful narrative. Sarun Srisingchai’s cinematography incorporates shadowy and dark imagery together with sudden high violent activity to the horror, which Srisingchai skillfully integrates into the film. The movie is incredibly proficient with the contrast of action that terrifies the audience in a supernatural way while simultaneously creating extreme levels of tension. The hotel and haunted forest settings are an interesting juxtaposition of claustrophobia of being trapped indoors with a sinister force as well as the open sky which is full of unknown terror.
